NC State Combo Championships – 2 weekends Nov. 2-5 and 9-12, 2023
This state-wide championship brings over 2500+ people to Wilmington and has a HUGE economic benefit to the area. We are looking for volunteers for the following positions:
- Site Coordinators – check in teams and send them to the courts, record, and report scores, and generally have a great time!
- Player Party Volunteers – set up & decorate, make sure things run smoothly & help break down the event space
- Sponsorship & Marketing Committee – help spread the word and sign sponsors up

L6 Entry Level Youth Tournament Volunteers
Are you available on an occasional Friday between 3:30 – 6 PM? We need volunteers to run the check in table, help keep the flow of matches and to monitor lower level courts. Your time giving back to the tennis community will help kids enjoy tournament play! Youth Program Volunteer/Coaching Opportunities
Volunteers are needed to assist with fairs, programs and events for tasks such as: set out nets, balls and rackets and organize tennis game / play stations for our youth. No tennis experience is needed. The time needed varies by program or event and can be a one time commitment for a few hours or a recurring time commitment for a program time frame. Middle School Coaches & Team Organizers
Middle school coaches organize team practice and matches for middle school boys (spring season) and girls (fall season). The season is 6 weeks, practices are 4 – 5:30 pm and matches are 4 – 6 pm. Only 2 days per week commitment, although if you would like to schedule more matches or practices you are able. Background check required. Abilities Tennis Association of North Carolina
On March 14, 2020 ATANC’s “Swing into Spring” Adaptive Tennis Tournament will be held at Althea Gibson Tennis Center. The tournament is open to children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Athletes will compete in singles, doubles, and unified doubles, both full and short court. We will also have a skills clinic for beginning athletes.
We are in need of volunteers as:
- *scorekeepers
- ball boys/girls
- 2 or 3 photographers
- tournament desk personnel
- **tennis players to act as teachers/coaches (teaches basic instruction to our skilled/beginning Athletes)
