It's that time of year again! Time to start creating your teams for Raise a Racquet against Domestic Violence Tournament! This is our Impact Team Tennis format event and it will be held at Empie Park this year. Enjoy a fun weekend of tennis, food, and friends as we raise awareness and support for Wilmington's local Domestic Violence Shelter and Services, Wilmington, NC. ![]()

As always, thanks to Rachel Ann and her family for helping with all aspects of this event. Our partnership in bringing awareness to the issue of domestic violence is one of the greatest honors in the work of the GWTA. ![]()

WHAT: A charity tennis tournament held in memory of MaryAnn Breault, the woman who tragically lost her life at Holly Tree Racquet & Swim Club in Dec. 2021 by domestic violence. All proceeds of the event will benefit Wilmington's Domestic Violence Shelter & Services.![]()

WHY: To raise awareness of domestic violence in our community, support the Domestic Violence Shelter & Services, and educate the community on prevention and the resources available.![]()

WHO: This event is being organized by the Greater Wilmington Tennis Association in collaboration with the victim's family.![]()

WHEN: February 28th - March 2nd, Matches will take place throughout the weekend.![]()

WHERE: Althea Gibson Tennis Center at Empie Park (3405 Park Ave, Wilmington NC 28403)![]()

FORMAT OF PLAY: This is a team event requiring a minimum of 2 men and 2 women per team (max 10 players); but if you need a team, one can be assigned to you. World Team Tennis Format is co-ed teams competing in a format that consists of 6 no-ad sets: 1 set each of men's and women's doubles followed by men's and women's singles, ending with 2 sets of mixed doubles. The total games won from all sets determines the winner. Substitutions and coaching are allowed during the match. There will be no conflicts with USTA matches.![]()
